Sustainable wedding decor without flowers? Oh, yes!

We always say wedding decoration is at its best when it is fully aligned with you, your style and is in perfect harmony with the wedding venue. Now let us present to you the “flowerless” decoration of a destination wedding we organized.

Sustainable wedding decor without flowers? Oh, yes!

The guests came mainly from Armenia, Russia and Latvia. The couple lives in Amsterdam so they arrived from there for the wedding, which was a rather small one with only forty guests. The small number of guests is quite characteristic to destination weddings anyway, it is rather rare to have several hundred guests.

Virág nélküli esküvői dekor

We had incredibly little time to put together everything: the couple only spent some days in Budapest a month before the wedding to be able to visit the venues together and we only had 2 months to plan the wedding perfectly.

Based on the couple’s inspirations, the theme of the wedding décor became “Travel around the world”. They used to travel a lot and since they are from 2 different countries and live in a third one, the theme is absolutely characteristic to them. The bride also had an important request, namely, she did not want any real flowers. Nevertheless, we suggested having various greenery, leaves and moss on the tables in order for the concept and the overall effect to be a bit livelier and fresher. A part of the elements appearing in the wedding decoration was procured by the couple during their travels, while the additional accessories and the coordinated concept with the fruits were put together by Marcsi from Esküvők Virága. The guest tables and the dessert table each symbolized a continent with its characteristic flora, fauna and fruits. How do you like this idea? There were no signs, yet the décor of all guest tables told stories about the living world and its characteristics. There was leather, fur, wood, a multitude of colors and textures, and a lot of fruit that the guests could also consume from.

Sustainable wedding decor without flowers

There was also a special photo wall with a world map made of wood, which was prepared and transported directly from Yerevan by the bride’s brother. Regarding the decoration, sustainability was an important factor so the “Thank you” gifts were also prepared from recycled materials: each guest received a customized pen that they could use when playing at the wedding quizzes.

The Törley Room of Városliget Café with its special form and colors as well as the lit-up Vajdahunyad Castle both ensured a magnificent background for the unique and special décor. The overall effect was hence quite far from a classical wedding milieu but that was exactly the point! We put an out-of-the-ordinary idea into a bit of pub/bar setting, crowned by the background.

When choosing the wedding cake, we expressly took the green-gold colors of the Törley Room and the wonderful Eszterházy cake by “Desszert.neked” was a perfect match to all this.

All in all, we can say that we organized a far-from-everyday wedding for an extraordinary couple.
